Can cafe was first set-up in 1998 amidst the turbulence of the 1998 Asian financial crisis when gloom and uncertainties were the prevailing opinions and feelings. This music-cafe and bar is furnished with nostalgic items like barber chair, Asian, Batman and others to name but a few . Food and drinks are reasonably priced and with a range of local, Beatles, Jackie Chan, instruments and autographed pictures and posters of Micheal Jackson, etc. and adorned with music and movie memorabilias, gramophone, ice-kacang maker, hair-permer, Western and international set menus and ala carte. One regular customer penned down his secret admiration and adoration for another regular female customer but not having the guts to approach her. Another was more successful, meeting his wife for the first time in the cafe.

The Cafe is a melting-pot of sorts and a popular place for meetings and hanging-loose. However with self-belief and strive, Can cafe beat the odds and grew, thanks to the support of the ever growing loyal customers, even reaching out to celebrities and stars with the outcome being Media Corps occasionally using Can Cafe to shoot dramas and movies. The Cafe also features interesting cocktails derived from foreign set-ups.
