What you should know about IT BLOCK Pte. Ltd.

Information Technology in Joo Chiat, IT Support in Joo Chiat, IT Services in Joo Chiat, It Consultant in Joo Chiat

IT Block is not just an IT, but a technology services company. Our capabilities include basic IT services, Printer services, web services, vendor management and procurement.
We specialize in working with small to medium sized enterprises.

The statement we commonly hear in Singapore is, “we are too small for an IT company” or “we don’t need IT, everything works”. When you don’t invest in infrastructure, you are going to pay sooner or later. I’ve seen a company that said they did not need any IT support, despite most of their computers requiring 15 to 20 minutes to start up. This may not be a big deal for workers, who get to enjoy that extra 20 minutes, but to an organization, that worker loses 80 hours or productivity each year. That is a 2-hour work week! Now imagine you have 5 workers. And each worker earns 2,000 dollars a month. You’re essentially bleeding 5,000 dollars each year. All because of computers that start up slow. Let’s not forget the slow internet connection, malware, slow processing that could equate to at least 10,000 dollars per year in an organisation with a small team of 5 people. Now tell me if you really think there isn’t a need for IT support.

IT Block is not just an IT, but a technology services company. Our capabilities include basic IT services such as gsuite, gcloud, exchange, office, mac(apple), windows, aws(amazon), azure, laptops, desktops, printers, support, troubleshooting,SEO and much more.
We only work with small to medium sized businesses in Singapore.
We may not know much about marketing or real estate or investment or recruitment. We know what we don't know and we know what we do know. We know I.T. We know it very well and we pride ourselves in being a specialist. You have more important work to attend to, business development, sales, advertising, operations. So let us worry about your technology infrastructure. Let us manage your I.T. projects. Give us the headache, we are here to serve and serving you will be our pleasure.

Now we will admit, this is definitely click bait. But what we do want businesses to do is to simply google "why you don't need IT support". And for you to research the pages that you get. The simple answer is, there will be no page that you can find that will be able to successfully come to the conclusion that you don't. In fact, there may be a good chance this blog may turn up and hog the result of your search. Wow. We think large companies should definitely have their own in-house IT team, for sure. Big companies know how much they will lose in terms of efficiency and productivity to the point that they cannot justify the numbers should they decide not to have an IT team. But what about the small guys? Does it really make a difference? Yes, it does. In a team as small as five people, even if one computer slows down, you are looking at week's worth of wages going down the drain. You are looking at lower productivity and losses you cannot fathom. If you put pen to paper and really work how much a slow computer affects you, from a monetary sense, you would be shocked. A temperamental internet connection could mean problems with emails flowing in and out, a possible result could be losing a client. Lack of automated backup could mean if one computer goes, so does all the information it has. That could mean loss of tax documents, invoices, legal documents what have you. IT is the infrastructure of the office, the backbone. It needs to be well looked after. The emotional distress a bad infrastructure will lower your staff's willingness to put in that extra effort. So why are you even googling "Why you don't need it support?"

Services

Was that extreme as an example? It does seem to properly explain the word though; which means the basic physical and organizational structures and facilities (e.g. buildings, roads, power supplies) needed for the operation of a society or enterprise. What most people and nations fail to understand is the importance of good infrastructure. You can be from any country and claim to have the best people and talents. The top countries will always have one thing in common, it works. A country with one genius and a way for him to realize his potential is worlds apart one with a hundred geniuses with no way to get to where they need to go. This is how a country works and yet this model is highly scalable.

Brands

Your laptop's time is coming to an end, you can feel it in your bones. It is also an itch for a fresh new start and a fresh new look. More importantly, this is a purchase with purpose. A list to lookout for is what's needed. So naturally we are here to assist with a few things you can look out for.<b>brand<b>This could be a tricky subject for many, we tend to think that we are paying for the brand. The laptop market is very competitive and this helps even out on pricing. What we mean by brand is the support it provides. While having a cheaper laptop with the same specs as a more expensive brand, you may be losing out on some really important warranties and support. Lenovo (IBM) for example may seem premium, but the support they provide is amazing. As long as you don't spill water into the keyboard that is. <b>size<b>Yes bigger is better, but hear us out. It is a laptop after all and the concept behind having one is convenience. As great as a large screen is, you will be surprised at the benefits of a smaller screen. Compact laptops tend to run for longer, the screen size to battery ratio seems like a great combination. We have seen some five year old laptops still running a respectable time without a power source. You don't need a laptop bag for a small laptop since they fit pretty much anywhere. And best above all, that compact laptop costs less. Much less. <b>specs<b>As fun as it may seem to fork out an extra few for an i-7 or better gfx card for a laptop, neither of these will serve you much unless you are playing games or rendering 3d images. We would recommend that you look out for dual storage, preferably an m2 SSD for your OS and an additional 2.5inch SSD/HDD for storage. And a spare RAM slot never hurts to have.<b>price<b>This is obvious, spend the least amount for maximum specs. But that is not what we mean. You will need laptops in the future and I think it is best to time laptops that work together with a comprehensive support package. If you can spend less than 1500 on a respectable laptop with 3 years warranty and support, it would be much easier and less painful to buy another 1500 laptop once that 3 year ends. A laptop is supposed to serve convenience and the ease at which they can be moved from place to place. And they are one of the most susceptible thing you own that might get lost, stolen or damaged. So investing heavily in one is not in your best interest. Trust us, fifteen years down the road you can see the amount of money you have saved and how well the laptops worked for you to begin with. #laptop #itblock #itservices #blog #singapore
