Canterbury had its beginnings in the late 1880's and when two family companies joined forces in 1904, the foundations of the Canterbury brand were laid. The company that started making knitwear in the Canterbury province of New Zealand is now know n as "Canterbury" and is recognised as the number one rugby apparel brand in the world.
