Dr Chan Tiong Beng.
Dr Chan received his MBBS (1976) and Master of Medicine (Internal Medicine) (1981) from the National University of Singapore. Dr Chan also served as a President of the Singapore Thoracic Society (1992 - 1993) and Asthma Association (1986 - 1998). He was previously a Senior Consultant (Respiratory Unit) at the National UniversityHospital and an Associate Professor (Medical Department) at the National University of Singapore. Over the years, he continued to be an Invited Speaker or Chairman to many Local and Regional Respiratory meetings.
Dr Chan is a Respiratory Specialist at Mount Elizabeth Medical Centre. He is a fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore and College of Chest Physician, USA. He has published more than 60 papers both in International and Local Respiratory Journals on topics of cough, respiratory tract infections, asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and has contributed chapters in local Respiratory publications. At present, Respiratory Infections in the Immuno-compromised Hosts, Community Acquired Pneumonia, FCCP (USA).
Consultant Respiratory Physician.
His main area of interest and research is in the field of Chronic Cough, FAMS, MMED, Singapore Arm Forces and in the Subordinate Court's Mediation Panel.
MBBS, Military Medicine Institute, Dr Chan is serving as a Specialist in the Specialist Medical Board, Asthma and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease.
