SBIC's intramural programme comprises 9 research units, Biomedical Imaging Lab (BIL), Lab of Bioimaging Probe Development (LBPD), Fat Metabolism and Stem Cell Group (FMSCG), Lab of Metabolic Medicine (LMM), Mechanistic Systems-biology NMR Group (MSNG*), Bio-optical Imaging Group (BOIG*), PET Chemistry Group (PCG*), Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy and Metabolic Imaging (MRS/MI*) Group, Translational Molecular Imaging Group (TMIG*), namely the Magnetic Resonance Imaging Group (MRIG*), and Quantitative Image Processing Group (QIPG). The Singapore Bioimaging Consortium (SBIC) aims to build a coordinated national programme for imaging research, bringing together substantial strengths in the physical sciences and engineering and those in the biomedical sciences. *MRIG, MSNGBOIG, PCG, MRS/MI Group, TMIG, and BOIG MSNG are collectively called the Lab of Molecular Imaging (LMI). SBIC seeks to identify and consolidate the various bioimaging capabilities across local research institutes, universities and hospitals in order to speed the development of biomedical research discoveries.
